José Álvaro Osorio Balvin, better known as J Balvin, is a Colombian reggaeton singer. Born and raised in Medellín, he developed an interest in music at a young age and began recording songs in his bedroom. In 2010, Balvin released his first studio album, Real, which peaked at number two on the Colombian albums chart. The album spawned the hit single 'Yo Te Lo Dije', which propelled him to stardom in his native country. In 2012, Balvin signed with Universal Music Latino and released his second studio album, La Familia, which debuted at number one on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart.
