Why did Rafael Nadal pull out of Wimbledon?

Rafael Nadal withdrew from Wimbledon on the morning of the tournament, citing a combination of fatigue and the toll that playing on clay had taken on his body. But the injury continued to linger, and Nadal said it was affecting his serve and forehand. He added that he had 'been carrying this injury for a long time and it has been getting worse.' It's a big blow for Wimbledon, which was hoping to have all of the top players in thefield. Nadal is a two-time champion at the All England Club, but he has not won the title since 2010.
